So glad to read your message on Dean blog. We worked here in NM to free Lee Wen Ho and are still conected to Lee folks and a bit to JACL which I used to belong to. We met Dean at the findraiser in Santa Fe 6/28 and I told him we would be asking him for a pardon for WHL after he became President. He answered honestly that he really didn't know the details of the case. I intend to sent the campaign the books about it--annotated, and Helen Zia's Asian American Dreams. I so agree about getting into the various 'hoods. He needs to go to black colleges and esp. Atlanta churches, South LA and Chicago, SF Chinatown, and, as an anti- Patriot Act awareness thing, maybe go to Manzanar and say we can't keep doing to Moslem Americans what we did to Japanese Americans. I should be writing this on the blog but I wanted to connect with you. I'm hoping to find others who will ask Dean about pardoning WHL.

I cannot believe we are not the same person. The INSTANT you and Mr. Activision feel the tug away from DC, the two of you are coming to live with us. Bring Kimuchi and her fiancee with you and the four of us who are newly married will put on a kick-ass wedding for them -- we still have hundreds of paper cranes!

thank you thank you thank you! i'm sitting at my computer (at work, mind you) crying over your entry to me. i'm sorry that you had to experience all that, and i totally get it ... not getting to be bridezilla isn't all that bad, the important thing is me and N and our life. i know that, but sometimes it's real easy to forget and feel put-upon and all that, isn't it. thanks, you are a good friend(!) and we will definitely take you up on the wedding advice. right now (this changes weekly) we want to have an evening wedding - no dinner - just hors d'oeuvres... p.s. i revisited this whole afraid-to-be-excited-about-being-engaged thing the other night when N's parents finally got back from holidays and N announced (pulling out our ring boxes) that she had given me the ring. rather than saying "i asked kimuchi to marry me" or whatever... her parents knew about the rings and her plans to ask me, just didn't know when, so it's not the same as *announcing* it, but still... we're still struggling with this. thanks again for being so great.

5000 lesbians?! indigo girls? oh, how wonderful. they were here at folkfest last summer - it was bliss - there were northern lights rolling across the sky the whole time they sang.

oh, and did i mention how much i love all your little politics rants? because even though i try really hard not to know everything about the states because i resent being barraged with american media constantly in canada, i still know a little, i guess just through osmosis, and your rants remind me that there are sane, intelligent, fair-minded americans out there (some of my best friends are americans, truly, but i don't talk to them often enough to keep plugged into this fact) and that you aren't all sitting, watching blindly while your country goes to pot! thanks for restoring my faith!

OK, lovely, here are your questions. Numbers one and four are totally ripped off from someone who interviewed Verdine, because they are kick-ass. 1. Tell us someting you can't believe *anyone* believes; something that just makes you do a double-take when someone says they think or feel that way. 2. Tell us something about a work of art that influences your daily life -- doesn't matter the genre, but the work(s) should be specific and I want wordy reasons! 3. Tell us about a moment in your childhood when you really had a revelation. Doesn't have to be anything that you would consider to be a big deal now as an adult -- just something that, as a kid, was a big moment of understanding. 4. Everyone has a list of songs that they secretly love but can never admit they like, because their credibility will be ruined. But now your cover is blown! Cough up a track list and, for added credit, liner notes. 5. Tell us about a physical accomplishment you are proud of -- building, athletics, whatever you've done with hands or body. And a bonus question -- don't you wish people would just stop apologizing for watching reality shows? I mean come on -- it's the zeitgeist or something, right? I can't wait to see your answers, and Mr. Activision better stop working so hard and let the paparazzi interview him soon, too!
